Sovereign data pipelines and reporting, on tools you own.

Moorhold Consulting, from Allotment Technology, helps organisations build data pipelines and reporting on open-source stacks they run themselves — so the platform under your reports is yours to keep, move or change.

// 01 — What we help with

Reporting off a single vendor

Move reporting that depends on Microsoft Fabric or Power BI capacity onto open-source tools you host. Keep Power BI where it earns its place; drop it where it doesn't.

Pipelines from awkward supplier APIs

Expiring tokens, undocumented paging, rate limits and exports that silently truncate — loaded reliably, resumable after failure, and checked so a gap can't pass for a trend.

Data governance

One sign-in across the stack, row-level access that matches who should see what, lineage from source to dashboard, and an audit trail a data protection officer can follow.

AI-agent-ready data platforms

Let AI agents read data and propose changes under a named person's permissions, with people approving what changes — on models and infrastructure you choose.

// 02 — How we work

Small, plain, and yours at the end.

  1. Step 1

    Look first

    We start with what you run today, what hurts and what must not break. You get a short written view before any build.

  2. Step 2

    Build in the open

    Work lands in your repositories and on your infrastructure, in small pieces you can review. Every component and its licence is written down.

  3. Step 3

    Hand it over

    Documentation, runbooks and no lock-in: everything we build keeps working without us, and your team can run it.

// 03 — Case study

Reporting for a UK public-sector collaboration platform.

A UK public-sector collaboration platform needed reporting that its platform supplier's exports couldn't give. The first version was built by hand: a desktop app feeding Power BI, with a laptop as the scheduler.

We're now using that build as the test case for Moorhold, our data product — declaring the pieces that were hand-built. It's a plan in progress, not a result; the write-up says what is still being proven.
